Okabashi

Okabashi has made molded footwear in Buford, Georgia since 1984, and describes itself as one of the remaining one percent of American footwear manufacturers. The record is stronger than most in the footwear segment because the brand accounts for its material as well as its assembly: the bio-based compound its sandals and flip-flops are molded from is made in the USA, roughly 45% soy by weight, and recycled back through the same plant.

The Buford factory is independently documented: the State of Georgia publicized a 2022 expansion adding hundreds of manufacturing jobs at the existing Gwinnett County site, which corroborates the own-site claim with a source that has no interest in overstating it.
