FINEX makes the octagonal cast-iron skillets with the coiled spring handles — a Portland, Oregon brand founded in 2012 that set out to make heirloom cast iron in America again, and did it well enough that Lodge, the country’s oldest foundry, bought the company in 2019.

That acquisition is the thing to check, because it is where a lot of “made in USA” stories quietly end. This one doesn’t. FINEX cookware is now cast at Lodge’s foundry in Tennessee and then machined and finished at FINEX’s own Portland works — both steps domestic. The brand still describes its cookware as American-made on its own site, and the reviews that dug into the change confirm the production stayed in the country rather than moving offshore under new ownership.

Cast iron is about as clean a case as this catalogue sees: one material, cast and finished in the United States, with nothing to assemble from imported parts. It sits at the top mark.
